Background to the Study
The complexity of language is one of the most striking characteristics of human-specific phenomena. Its tangled web of components and interpretations. It extends beyond its semiotic capability of delivering information at a communicative level to have an art form that lives by it alone and is known as the literary art (O'Hara, Massimi, Harper, Rubens, & Morris, 2021). (O'Hara, Massimi, Harper, Rubens, & Morris, 2021).
At the communicative level, it incorporates various instruments to facilitate interlocution, such as modulation and pitch of the voice, gesticulations, which for the sake of this research include facial expressions and feedbacks from the other person for the clarification of meanings and comprehension, and so on. Language is constantly predicated on contextual sense making at the interpersonal level since the intricacy of language always bears upon every statement (Otemuyiwa, 2022).
Take away the linguistic and personal arrangement of this semiotic speech act, as well as all of the other instruments that go along with it, and you won't have any sense at all. Therefore, there is the possibility that one may be misinterpreted, which is counterproductive to talks on all levels. People now rely heavily on texting and the instant messaging platforms are becoming more and more popular across social classes. With this popularity comes the need for its acceptance for formal and informal purposes (Sánchez-Moya, & Cruz-Moya, 2022). This is due to the advancement of technology, particularly in the telecommunications sector.
